Arm port BOF
Discussion of the state of the various arm ports
Discussion of things relevant to the arm ports. Things that will definately be covered: existing arm port, new armel port and armeb port, buildds and developer machine infrastructure, crossgrading from arm to armel. Which cpus to support, and which ports for how long. Please raise anything anything else that you want people want to discuss.
The arm port is in the process of being superceded by the armel port. There is also the armeb (OABI) port, and could be an EABI armeb port. We also have problems with our ageing buildd infrastructure, and problems because the porters have no access to the buildds. Discussion of what is needed to get the armel port to a releasable state, and how people currently running the existing arm port are going to make the switch, is needed. We also need to consider whether to support v4 machines in armel in order to hasten the departure of the old arm port. Working out how to upgrade our buildds for both ports and make sure that there is adequate oversight of their operation is also important. There are other issues to do with various bits of broken software such as java and mono, which it might be useful to go over.
