Emdebian and Debian developer.

C/C++/Perl programmer (QOF, pilot-qof, gpe-expenses, deb-gview, apt-cross, emdebian-tools) and embedded Debian developer.

Main interests include: Embedded Debian. Bridging the gap between the tiny package set available on embedded devices and the huge variety of tools and utilities available on desk-bound Debian machines. Enabling users to use the same applications on both to simplify data exchange without restricting synchronisation methods, including sharing data from embedded devices with more complex applications on the desktop and vice-versa.

Data-Freedom. expanding the freedoms of free source code to free user data. Making data in one application available to another application; making data on one platform available on a different platform. Using standard formats wherever possible, supporting queries to provide fine control over exchange methods whilst retaining data integrity. Programs should make the user data available to any process that requests it. This data is free and the application has no rights over how it can be used. Supporting data-centric handling that is independent of specific backends or frontends. What matters for free user data is that the data is available on-demand to whichever process can use it, independent of where or how the data was last stored.
