Postmortem on Debian Creative Commons Workgroup

In 2006, a group of Debian developers worked with the legal staff of Creative Commons (http://creativecommons.org/) to modify the CC license suite to be, in part, DFSG-compatible. I'll talk about the history of this relationship, the way we worked together to modify the licenses, some of the challenges, and the results. I'll also try to draw some conclusions on how Debian's moral authority can be used to influence other players in the Free Software world.
